We hope everyone has been practicing all winter to get ready for a great 2008 season of golf! Carolyn, Meg, and I, along with our staff: Patrick Cull, Jewell Gillespie, Jenifer Harless, and Joan Vyse, are looking forward to helping you enjoy your Beaver Island Golf Course experience to the fullest on splendid Beaver Island.
We would like everyone to experience golfing on Beaver Island! New this year is Twilight Golf from 3 P.M. to dusk for only $10.00 for 9 holes. This year we will continue to offer student memberships (ages 12-18) for $225.00, punch cards - 10 games with the 11th game free ($180.00 paid in advance), and unlimited golf for seven days for $95.00.
Some ways to have fun at the golf course include: family outings, pre- and post- wedding outings, family reunions, as well as firm and corporate outings. We do ask that you please call (231) 448-2301 in advance to make arrangements for these types of events.
Three leagues are continuing this year: Women's League on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 P.M., Men's League on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 P.M., and Women's League on Thursday mornings at 9:30 A.M. New this year is the Mixed Doubles Tournaments on Sunday afternoons. For more information about tournaments and leagues, please see "Tournament" on the web site.
The driving range is working out nicely. The protective shed keeps out the elements while you hit a bucket or two of balls. Fees have been refigured for this year. See "fee schedule" on the web site. After two years with no increases, this year our annual membership has increased $5.00. We ask that you please pay memberships promptly and, if necessary, a reasonable payment plan can be worked out. Please contact me personally to work out details so there are not misunderstandings.
The winter has been long and the spring late, yet we anticipate another glorious summer and look forward to seeing everyone this coming season. Without your help would not be possible to have a golf course on Beaver Island. We thank you for your ongoing support!
Sincerely,
John Works, Jr.
